Skyfall is the biggest movie of 2012

Skyfall
Daniel Craig’s latest escapades as James Bond has overtaken The Dark Knight Rises to become the biggest movie of 2012 in the UK.

Skyfall has netted £57million to surpass Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster and the £55.6million that Daniel Craig’s first outing as James Bond, Casino Royale, achieved.

‘We are thrilled and proud to reach this box office landmark in record time and are delighted that UK audiences continue to enjoy Skyfall,’ Skyfall producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said.

MGM’s Chief Executive Officer and Chairman Gary Barber added: ‘We could not be more proud of this amazing achievement. Kudos again to all involved with this film, which clearly delivers on every level.’

Skyfall also broke opening weekend figures at the box office, making £37.2 million to wrestle the title away from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two.

Add to that one more sales figure as I finally get around to seeing the film this week. Looking forward to it. Is it as good as the critics say? Is it the best Bond ever?

Let me know what you think in the comments.
